Eriez' PolyMag® additives impart Metal Detectability and Magnetic Susceptibility into plastic moldings to prevent plastic contaminated food products from reaching the consumer.
Eriez provides PolyMag® Masterbatch Additives in a non-dusting pellet, allowing molders and extruders to produce metal detectable plastic parts for food contact applications. Molders can satisfy varying levels of metal detectability at a cost substantially lower than specialty compounds. This also eliminates the need to buy minimum quantities of special resins and carry excess material in your inventory.
Major restaurant chains are insisting that their food processing suppliers utilize plastic and rubber articles that are metal detectable. This has become part of many company's HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) programs to prevent plastic contaminated products from reaching the consumer.
Eriez Magnetics' FDA compliant, PolyMag® additives impart Metal Detectability and Magnetic Susceptibility into a wide range of polymers. We supply these additives to molders of returnable plastic containers, pallets, scoops, scrappers, o-rings, conveyor belting, bucket elevators and more. Our PolyMag® additives are typically included at 5% to 20% loadings in moldings and extrusions.
Resins containing the PolyMag® Gray HSCP can be pigmented darker colors like blue, gray, green, red and purple. The lower cost PolyMag Black HSCP is only suitable for black applications. The FDA has offered a favorable opinion of the PolyMag additives per CTS 75807. We can also discuss the PolyMag powders for special compounding in foam, thermoset rubber and liquid raw materials.
